The next meeting will take place

in Berlin, Germany, from July 27th to 30th

In 1997, Euro-Fuchsia had before met in Berlin. The participants had visited the Botanical Garden, seen a trial with some fuchsia cultivars, had a walk through the Park Glienicke, a tour by bus and one by boot through the city of Berlin. Now, twenty years later, the program of the conference from July, 27th to 30th will be a little bit different - we have the international garden show in Berlin (IGA 2017 Berlin), see: https://iga-berlin-2017.de/en Therefor the meeting will center around the IGA. We will take part in the opening ceremony of the fuchsia indoor show, and you will have sufficient time to stroll through the gardens of the world and the other parts if the garden show. We will also visit the Britzer Garten (see: https://gruen-berlin.de/en/britzer-garten), where in 1985 the federal garden show took place. Whether we will visit the botanical Garden again or visit Bornim with Karl Foerster's famous garden or anorher nice private garden with fuchsias or some Prussian gardens in Potsdam is still under consideration and in the planning process. Conference hotel will be the Hotel Königin Luise, which is a ****-Hotel 6 km east of the Alexanderplatz, located in a quite area, and with a nice beer garden.  Be prepared to walk 8 minutes from the hotel to the next public transport, which is the streetcar line M4 to the city center (Alexanderplatz). Detailed information will follow. To travel best to Berlin is by air. There are two active airports in Berlin: Tegel and Schönefeld. Tegel (air berlin, Lufthansa and others) is closer to the city, but you must take a bus to the next underground or S-Bahn, Schönefeld (EasyJet, Eurowings and others) has its own S-Bahn connection to the city, but it takes 45 minutes. Public transport in Berlin is very good, train or tube frequency is about 3 to 10 minutes. Parking space is rare and expensive. Therefor I recommend, not to use a car for your travel to Berlin. Please note, the latest application date for conference and hotel (both at your secretary) will be May 31st, 2017.
